The Audubon Community Cinema (ACC) group is offering an evening of food and comedy to raise money to support the Rose Theater renovation. On Sunday, March 4, the night begins with a social hour at 5 p.m. in the St. Patrick’s Parish Center in Audubon with a dinner and auction to follow at 6 p.m. The comedy show, slated to begin after dinner at 7:30 p.m., features Guys In Ties. This Illinois-based improv comedy troupe has developed a reputation over the past 18 years for their quick wit and intelligent humor that is tailored specifically to each event by including audience members as a part of the act. Money raised from ticket sales will be used on the $500,000 Rose Theater restoration. The theater has been a landmark in downtown Audubon since the 1940s, but has fallen into disrepair over the years. In the spring of last year, the ACC purchased the theater and began fundraising to bring the 358-seat theater back to its former grandeur. Work on that renovation is expected to be completed by August of this year. Tickets for the March 4 fundraiser are $30 per person and can be purchased from the Audubon State Bank, Landmands Bank or online by following the link included below.
