The 2017 Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) State Championship tournament begins Monday, Feb. 27, and live television coverage of the championship games will begin on Friday, March 3, provided by Iowa Public Television (IPTV). Broadcasts from the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines will include highlights of special performances from the All-Iowa Honor Dance Team and the Parade of Champions. There will also be a segment featuring Elle Ruffridge of Pocahontas who has set career and state scoring records. Coverage begins with the pre-game show at 5:30 p.m. Friday and continues through the Class 2A championship game beginning at 8 p.m. On Saturday, the pre-game show airs at 3:30 and coverage continues through the 5A championships beginning at 8 p.m. IPTV will continue coverage of high school girls’ athletics through the rest of the year with state soccer, softball and volleyball.
