It may look like winter outside, but now is the time to plan ahead for summer recreation as the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) opens campsite reservations for Memorial Day weekend this Sunday, Feb. 26. “Campers can make reservations for sites three months ahead of their first night stay, said Todd Coffelt, chief of the Iowa DNR State Parks Bureau, “and we have a flurry of reservations from campers who begin their stay prior to the Memorial Day weekend.” Not every campsite is available on the reservation system, but more information about state parks and a link to the reservation site can be found below.
