The Diocese of Sioux City has announced dates for the annual Men’s and Women’s Conferences. On March 25 at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll, the Women’s Conference will feature Teresa Tomeo, a best-selling author, talk show host and columnist with the Catholic Globe newspaper. The conference provides a day for women to see themselves through the eyes of Christ, according to Linsey Hoard, assistant director of religious education and family life. “This topic in particular is important because it’s so easy to give into the lies that our culture is feeding us,” she said. The day will include mass, two speakers, breakout sessions and the opportunity for confession. Cost for the conference is $30 before March 10 and $35 after. A mother/daughter discount is offered for $25 per person. The 4th annual Men’s Conference will be held April 1 at All Saints Parish in Le Mars. Their keynote speaker will be Marcel LeJuene, an international speaker, author, campus minister and evangelist. Fred Shellabarger, diocesan director of evangelization, catechesis and family life, says they will be building on last year’s theme from Proverbs 27:15, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
