Next Tuesday, March 7, the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City will be hosting the 16th annual National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Special Olympics Clinic. Athletes from Sioux City and surrounding areas will be coming together to learn from some of the top Division II women’s basketball players in the country in the clinic sponsored by the Diocese of Sioux City. The event is run in conjunction with the NAIA Division II College Basketball Championships, which are held in Sioux City every March. The Most Reverend R. Walker Nickless, bishop of Sioux City, says the clinic is a blessing and he will be present at the first session. “The Diocese of Sioux City is very proud to support this special event for the past 15 years,” he said. “This is such a joyful experience for everyone involved.” The first session will begin at 9 a.m. and the second will run from 10:30 to noon.
