High winds during yesterday afternoon’s (Monday) storm caused a two-by-six on a trailer to become airborne and strike another vehicle. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the incident at Ivy Ave. and Carroll Street in Maple River at approximately 4:44 p.m. They responded to find that a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 31-year-old Adam Roy Meyer of Lake City, was southbound on Ivy Ave. and pulling a trailer loaded with a skid loader and two-by-sixes. The other vehicle, a 2014 Ford Fusion driven by 26-year-old Joseph Peter Brown of Breda, was northbound on Ivy Ave. when the board was thrown into the front driver’s side of the vehicle. There was an estimated $2,000 in damage to the Brown vehicle and Meyer was cited for failure to secure a load.
