There was an estimated total of $21,000 in damages in a two-vehicle accident that occurred in Jefferson at approximately 7:46 a.m. on Monday. The Jefferson Police Department is reporting that Jerry Dennhardt of Rippey was eastbound on Wall Street in a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado owned by Mike Dennhardt and had stopped at the posted stop sign at the intersection with Grimmell Road. A 2004 Ford F250, owned by Douglas Meinecke and operated by Garrett Meinecke of Jefferson, was northbound on Grimmell Road at that time. The Meinecke truck was struck by the Dennhardt vehicle. The impact caused the Dennhardt truck to leave the roadway and strike a utility pole. There was an estimated $10,000 in damages to each vehicle and $1,000 in damage to the pole. Dennhardt was cited for failure to yield to a vehicle on the right.
