No children were injured in a school bus accident Friday morning in Carroll. At approximately 7:51 a.m., the Carroll Police Department responded to the scene of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 15th Street and Quint Avenue. A 2007 Thomas school bus, driven by 61-year-old Richard Joseph Beyer, of Carroll, was travelling east on 15th Street into the sun and failed to make a complete stop at the posted stop sign. A 2007 Volkswagen GTI, driven by 30-year-old Jordan John Chase, of Carroll, was northbound on Quint Avenue and was struck by the bus on the front driver’s-side panel. No person on the bus sustained any injuries, and Chase was transported to St. Anthony Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for suspected minor injuries. Beyer was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Damage to the bus is estimated at $800 dollars, and the Chase vehicle sustained $3,500 in damages.
