The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Foundation recently announced they reached the $1 million mark in scholarships awarded to students during the 2016-17 school year. More than 1,600 students at DMACC’s six campuses and six learning centers have benefitted from this record-setting achievement. Foundation Executive Director, Tara Connolly, says their ability to reach this milestone is the result of hours of work by the Board of Directors as well as the generosity of donors. These people, she said, believe in the DMACC Foundation’s mission of empowering all students in their pursuit of life’s opportunities and career goals by providing access to a quality education for students seeking career training to enter the workforce or a transfer degree that will prepare them for a four-year college.
