A Jefferson resident’s report of locating suspected stolen firearms in a home at 202 West Adams Street on April 8, has led to a request for arrest warrants. The Jefferson Police Department has completed an investigation into the incident and requested warrants against 18-year-old Jesus Moises Zuniga of Jefferson for burglary in the third degree and carrying weapons, aggravated misdemeanors, and trespass, a simple misdemeanor. The investigation included officers speaking with Zuniga, who had been staying at the residence. He admitted to having stolen the guns from a vehicle near the hospital on West Lincolnway Street. The information was verified with the owner of the firearms.
