The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident on the north side of Carroll Wednesday afternoon. At approximately 3:58 p.m., 24-year-old Zachary Thomas Irlbeck of Templeton was driving a 2007 Nissan Altima southbound on Highway 71, and had stopped and signaled to turn east onto 180th Street. A 2004 Chevrolet Venture, driven by 35-year-old Jessica Janine Worthen of Rockwell City, was also traveling southbound on Highway 71. Worthen, who failed to see the vehicle in time to safely stop, struck the rear of Irlbeck’s car. Irlbeck indicated the possibility of minor injuries, but was not transported for treatment. Worthen was uninjured. There was an estimated $2,000 in damage to Worthen’s Venture and $4,500 in damage to the Irlbeck vehicle.
