Spurned Man Takes Revenge On Woman’s Car Tire

The Jefferson Police Department is requesting an arrest warrant for a Jefferson man who reportedly resorted to vandalism after being rebuked by a female patron at the Wild Rose Casino Jefferson. At approximately 1:09 p.m. Thursday, Dusty Cochran notified the police department that after she had been approached by 35-year-old Derek Eugene Ott on the gaming floor of the casino, she had “told him off,” then exited the establishment later to find a tire on her vehicle had a hole in its side. The officer determined a sharp object had been used to puncture the tire, and reviewed casino video surveillance of the parking lot. The tapes showed a male pull a vehicle alongside Cochran’s, get out of his car and lean over the tire. As his car pulled out of the parking lot, the tire deflated. The warrant for Ott is for the charge of criminal mischief in the fifth degree. Damage to the tire is estimated at $100.
