An Ames man was injured in a three-vehicle accident at approximately 7:44 a.m. on Wednesday morning at the intersection of Highways 30 and 71 in Carroll. The Carroll Police Department reports that 35-year-old Ross Eugene Miller of Carroll was westbound on 30 in a 2006 semi-tractor trailer, and stopped at the intersection lights. A 2007 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 47-year-old Jimmy Arnold Miller of Ames was also westbound on 30 and stopped behind the semi. The Miller car was struck from behind by a 2001 Buick LeSabre, driven by 50-year-old James Alan Watters of Jefferson, which pushed the Malibu into the rear of the semi-trailer. Ross Miller was not injured and there was no damage to his truck. Jimmy Miller was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of injuries and Watters was uninjured in the accident. There was an estimated $2,000 in damage to both the Miller and Watters vehicles, and Watters was cited for failure to maintain control.
