The Robert D. and Billie Ray Center at Drake University in Des Moines is now accepting nominations for the Iowa Good Character Awards. The annual award recognizes individuals, organizations and communities which exemplify the six pillars of character: trustworthiness; respect; responsibility; fairness; caring; and citizenship. The award has eight different categories for nominations. The youth category is for role models from ages 10 to 18. The adult category includes people 19 years or older. Other classifications include communities, educators, schools, athletic teams, student organizations and businesses. This year’s selected honorees will be invited a ceremony on Friday, July 21 in Altoona.
