Swan Lake State Park will literally become a splash of Color on Saturday, May 13 with the Carroll Chamber of Commerce Color Fun Run/Walk 5K. Last year’s event saw more than 130 dash through the park as volunteers from the Chamber and area businesses doused them with colored corn starch. Chamber Executive Director, Shannon Landauer, says the event will be even bigger and better this year.

Registration is open now at a cost of $25 for adults and $15 for children 10 and under. That, however, will change after May 5.

After the May 5 early registration deadline, the cost goes up to $30 for adults and $20 for children. The race will take place rain or shine on May 13, and registration that day will open at 8:30 a.m. The race will start at 9 a.m. Wearing sunglasses is recommended for helping to keep the colored powder out of the eyes and organizers also recommend bringing a towel.
