A substance suspected to be marijuana was located at the Greene County Middle School on Tuesday afternoon. An officer from the Jefferson Police Department received a call from the school at approximately 3:25 p.m. School officials say they received a student tip and conducted a search of a female student’s handbag, where the suspected marijuana was found. The officer gathered the bag as evidence and submitted it to the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) lab for testing. Criminal charges are pending lab results.
