The Carroll County Conservation Board is hosting Des Moines’ Blank Park Zoo next weekend and are inviting you to catch their one-hour program for free. On Saturday, May 27, zoo staff will be at the Swan Lake Conservation Center’s outdoor amphitheater at 1 p.m. for the show and will perform an encore at 2 p.m. The presenters are tentatively scheduled to bring a six-year-old American alligator, a screech owl, a tenrec, which is similar to a hedgehog, and a corn snake. Two Blank Park Zoo staff will share interesting facts about the creatures and be available to answer any questions from the audience. The event is free to attend and suited for all ages to enjoy.
