Glidden Approves $257,000 Budget Amendment For Housing And Shelter Projects

The Glidden City Council unanimously approved a $257,000 budget amendment at their council meeting earlier this week. No comments on the amendment were received by the council before the adjustment was made. City Clerk, Suzy Danner, says two projects made up the bulk of the changes.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program aims to create affordable housing options for families within the community. The Kruger Shelter House, which is expected to complete at the beginning of July, added additional expenses which needed to be reflected in the city budget. Danner notes the $257,000  amendment increased the city’s originally estimated costs.
