The Carroll Fire Department responded to a report of smoke in a residence at 802 W. 15th Street in Carroll at approximately 7:15 p.m. Wednesday night. Fire Chief, Greg Schreck, says the homeowners had been away from the residence and notified his department when they arrived home to hear smoke detectors going off in the house that was filled with smoke. Firefighters entered the structure and found the source of the fire was a dishwasher. Fire damage was limited to the dishwasher and there was some minor smoke damage to other parts of the home. Firefighters worked to clear the smoke from the residence before leaving. They were at the scene for approximately 45 minutes. No injuries were reported.
