The Wall Lake City Pool will be opening nearly two weeks later than usually this year due to a delay in a renovation project. The $130,000 effort to update the facility’s water circulation systems is running behind schedule. City Clerk, Chris Rodman, says the pool usually opens the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, but patrons will have to wait a bit longer to get their feet wet.
A heating system is included in the updates to the pool to keep the water temperatures regulated throughout the summer. To reconcile for the pool’s late opening, Rodman says the city council made a decision that should make pool-goers happy.
Season passes for the pool are usually $80 per season for a family or $4 per person for daily admission. Rodman adds that the free admission is not just for Wall Lake citizens.
The deal is for this swim season only. When the pool opens again next year, a season pass or entrance fee will be required for admittance.
