Denison Road Construction Worker Injured In I-35 Accident Tuesday

A highway construction worker from Denison is lucky to have escaped serious injury after an accident on Interstate 35 Tuesday afternoon in Worth County north of Mason City. At approximately 12:53 p.m., the Iowa State Patrol responded to find a 2015 Ford transit van, driven by 60-year-old Dean Ward McFadden of Shakopee, Minn. was traveling northbound on I-35 through a road construction zone which had closed down the left lane. McFadden had a medical condition which caused him to lose control of his vehicle and strike a road construction truck with workers on it. Twenty-seven-year-old Isaak Delgadillo Cervantes was thrown from the construction semi, suffering minor injuries. He was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Mason City by Lake Mills Emergency Medical Services.
