Gary Eischeid of Lake View has taken a seat on the Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) Foundation board of directors after the resignation of Seth McCaulley. Eischeid, the vice president of logistics for Landus Cooperative, brings more than 25 years of leadership to the board, having served in various military command positions, retiring in 2006 as Brigadier General. During his military tenure, he received many commendations and is most proud of having simultaneously led 25,000 soldiers in various locations in the United States and South Korea to execute all logistics and transportation needs. “It’s exciting to be part of a board where I can offer insight into strategy, policy and continuous improvement,” Eischeid says. “Our goal is to transform our communities by providing coordinated care and exceptional experiences. The Foundation goals will support SMCH in achieving this important vision,” Eischeid adds. The Foundation was established in January 2016 for the purpose of inspiring giving to support the hospital, with a focus this year on developing a strategic plan.
