Tim Waters of Jefferson received only minor injuries when the tanker truck he was driving tipped over on the northbound ramp of Interstate 35 on Highway 30 Tuesday morning. The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) caught the rollover accident on video just shortly after 8 a.m. that closed the northbound ramp and the north lane of I-35 as well as the Highway 30 eastbound ramp to I-35 north. Traffic was then backed up along the interstate until the crash was cleared at about 11:30 a.m. The tanker was hauling thousands of gallons of pesticide, which spilled onto the highway. The Story County Sheriff’s Office reports that the pesticide is not toxic or a hazardous material.
