The Coon Rapids City Council has contracted a marketing firm to create a consistent theme among all the assets and amenities the town has to offer. In January, a visioning and planning meeting identified hiring a community coordinator as a top priority for the town. The firm selected, Emerge Marketing Solutions, run by Shelly Greving and based out of Manning, was founded in 2016 and specializes in revitalizing rural Iowa communities. City Clerk, Jes Leighty, says with Emerge Marketing’s help, Coon Rapids can highlight everything the town has to offer.
According to Leighty, many of the marketing materials they use now are starting to show their age. Emerge Marketing’s first goal is to update all that information.
It will take some time for everything to come together, and Leighty says any changes need to start at the community level.
Emerge will also be helping the city update and use its online materials, such as its website and Facebook pages. The city has not identified what theme they may go with yet, and a more concrete motif is expected in the future.
