The Lake View Police Department is looking to hire a new officer after one member of their five-person police force submitted his resignation. At a meeting on Monday, Aaron Shroeder’s resignation was accepted unanimously by council-members. His final day with the department is Monday, June 12. The force usually consists of a police chief, three patrol officers and one reserve officer. Now short one officer, the city has opened the job to applicants. An ideal candidate has some background in law enforcement or public safety experience. Candidates will need to complete training through the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy after their hire if they have not done so already. Applications are open until Friday, June 30.
