Last spring, Drake University joined a group of 35 other colleges and universities throughout the United States to bring African leaders to our country to learn more about our business and entrepreneurship. During their six-week long stay, 25 of these 25 to 35-year-old Mandela Washington Fellows came to Manning in late July. During their time in town, they toured Puck Custom Enterprises and the recently restored Main Street as well as taking a driving tour through the community. A new group has been invited back to the progressive small Iowa town again this year and are expected to spend the day in Manning on Thursday, July 22. Former Main Street Manning Board President, Ron Reischl, says last year’s event went wonderfully, and he fully expects the same thing this year.
