Carroll Man Facing Four Counts Of Forgery And One Charge Of Fifth-Degree Theft

Twenty-two-year-old Demorian Lamar Washington of Carroll was taken into custody on Monday afternoon and charged with four counts of forgery and one count of theft in the fifth degree. An investigation by the Carroll Police Department revealed that Washington is alleged to have used a stolen credit card four separate times at the Eastside Shell station at the intersection of Plaza Drive and Griffith Road in Carroll. The fifth-degree theft charge arose from Washington’s exercise of control over stolen property, a credit card, having a value of less than $200, with the knowledge or reasonable expectation that the property is believed stolen. The theft charge is a simple misdemeanor while all four forgery charges are class D felonies.
