One Dead And Another Seriously Injured After Collision Friday Morning

One person has died after two vehicles collided just northwest of Carroll Friday morning. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 8:18 a.m. near the intersection of Kittyhawk Avenue and 170th Street. Initial reports indicate 17-year-old Kizer James Brockman, of Lincoln, Neb., was travelling northbound in a 2011 Jeep Wrangler on Kittyhawk and failed to stop at the posted sign. Sixty-one-year-old Debra Renee Kock, of Carroll, was eastbound in a 2011 RAV-4 and moving through the intersection at that time. Brockman struck the side of Kock’s SUV and both vehicles ended up in the east ditch where the Jeep caught fire. Kock was pronounced dead at the scene, and Brockman was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and Carroll Police and Fire Departments assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
