A Templeton man is cited after leaving the scene of an accident on Thursday night. At approximately 11:45 p.m., a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500, driven by 50-year-old Kenneth Wayne Klocke, was northbound on Rye Ave., when for unknown reasons, Klocke lost control of the vehicle. He was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto 2nd Street when he left the roadway, entered a grassy area and struck a road sign and a meter/fuse panel. He then fled the scene of the accident. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office located Klocke Friday evening and cited him for failure to maintain control. He was also issued warnings for striking fixtures upon a highway and leaving the scene of an accident. There was an estimated $3,500 in damages to the truck and $1,750 to the road sign and meter/fuse panel. Klocke did not report any injuries from the accident.
