A Story City man is facing multiple charges after leaving the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Thursday. At approximately 7:25 a.m., the Greene County Sheriff and Chief Deputy responded to the scene at 305th Street east of R Ave., east of Cooper. An investigation revealed that 57-year-old Michael Correy was eastbound on 305th Street, when he swerved to miss hitting a deer. He lost control of the 2017 Nissan Murano, entered the south ditch and struck a tree. The Murano was totaled. Correy will be charged with leaving the scene of an accident with damage to a vehicle, failure to maintain control, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
