Seven Carroll and Sac County charitable projects have been selected to receive $61,000 in grants from the Gilbert and Barbara Renze Foundation. There will be $4,200 gifted toward work on portions of the Sauk Rail Trail in Sac County and the Lake View Fire Department will be using their $10,000 award towards the purchase of a compressor for air packs. The City of Odebolt and the Odebolt Fire Department have also each been named recipients of the Renze grants, with $15,000 allocated to the fire department for the purchase of grain bin rescue equipment and $850 to the city for their rural legacy project. And the final named winner of a $15,000 grant is the City of Wall Lake for the purchase of a pool liner.  To date, the Gilbert and Barbara Renze Foundation has awarded more than $529,000 to charitable projects in Sac and Carroll Counties.
