A semi-truck trailer accident did an as of yet unknown amount of damage to several utility poles early Tuesday morning. At approximately 12:01 a.m., the Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of First and Cartwright Streets in Rippey. Forty-seven-year-old Farrald Andre of Tucson, Ariz. was operating a 2017 Freightliner and was attempting to back up when he struck a power pole. A chain reaction occurred and the breaking of that pole caused three others to break, with power and phone lines coming down on top of the semi. There was minimal damage to the tractor-trailer.
