No Injuries Reported In Jefferson House Fire Thursday Night, But Investigation Is Ongoing

No one was inside a burning home last night in Jefferson when authorities arrived on the scene. At approximately 10:22 p.m., the Jefferson Fire and Police Departments and Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to the fire at 203 South Oak Street to find the east side of the structure already fully engulfed in flames. The fire originated in the kitchen, spreading from there to other parts of the home. No injuries were reported, but the Iowa State Fire Marshal Division was called in to assist due to the nature of the fire. An investigation is ongoing. The Iowa State Patrol and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
