South Central Calhoun Community School is one of the few in the area who will see the majority of their students starting classes on Thursday, Aug. 24, but they will be hosting registration for the 2017/18 school year on Thursday, Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Middle School in Rockwell City. They will also be holding open houses for elementary and middle school students in Rockwell City from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23. Students in kindergarten through 12th grade will begin classes on Aug. 24, while the first day of preschool will be Monday, Aug. 28. A reminder that there are staggered start and ending times, with elementary classes starting at 8:10 a.m. and ending at 3:20 p.m. Middle school students will start class at 8:14 a.m. and be dismissed at 3:20 p.m. while high school students will start their day at 8:25 a.m. and be dismissed at 3:30 p.m.
