A Paton man was lucky to escape serious injury after a tractor overturned while he was mowing a ditch. At approximately 12:45 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office located an overturned tractor in the ditch in the 300 block of P Ave. north west of Paton. There was nobody on or near the tractor at that time. The deputy located the owner, 70-year-old Richard Burnell, at the Greene County Medical Center with minor injuries. Burnell told the officer he was mowing the ditch and tried to back down it when the tractor rolled onto its side.
