Two young people have died and another was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 30 southwest of Logan Friday night. At approximately 10:48 p.m., the Iowa State Patrol and Missouri Valley Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene near Niagra Trail. An initial investigation revealed that a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse, driven by 16-year-old Syler J. Haase of Missouri Valley, was westbound on Highway 30. Another vehicle, a 2013 Ford Focus, driven by 18-year-old Cody A. Wills of Logan, was eastbound at the same time, and for unknown reasons, crossed the center line, hitting the Haase vehicle head on. Haase and Wills both died of injuries sustained in the accident and a passenger in the Haase vehicle, 17-year-old Dalton Anderson of Missouri Valley, was transported to CHI Health Missouri Valley for treatment of injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
