The Jefferson Police Department investigated a two-vehicle property damage accident yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon at the intersection of North Wilson Ave. and State Street. At approximately 12:49 p.m., a 2010 Ford Fusion, owned and operated by Rianna Stott of Jefferson, and a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, owned by Daniel Winger of Scranton and being driven by Leah Barnes of California, met at the intersection at about the same time, with Stott southbound on Wilson and Barnes eastbound on State. Both drivers proceeded through the stop signs at the same time, colliding in the intersection. No injuries were reported, but both vehicles received an estimated $1,500 in damages. Stott was cited for failure to yield to a vehicle on the right.
