There are eight candidates running for four open seats in the IKM-Manning Community School District Board of Education elections on Tuesday, Sept. 12. All voting will be done at the Manilla Fire Station and all reporting done by the Shelby County Auditor’s Office. Two incumbents will be on the ballot, Amy Ferneding in District 1B and Sam Hansen in the at-large position. The one seat open in District 1B is being challenged by Larry Blake while there is only one candidate, Ron Reischl, running for the District 2B position. Four other candidates join Hansen in the bid for the two at-large seats and include, Kathy Blake, Lucas Potthoff, Mike Blum and Brandi Perdew. Ar-We-Va Community School District has two seats on the ballot, but only one candidate running, incumbent Danielle Schrad. Voting for all precincts in the Ar-We-Va school district will be done at the Community Building in Vail. Stay tuned to future broadcasts for more information on other area school board elections.
