CCSD Adopts New Policy Granting Additional Vacation Days To Long-Term Employees

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education has approved a policy amendment granting additional vacation days to non-bargaining personnel. The change comes after school officials compared their previous vacation policy, which offered a maximum of 15 days, to other school districts of a similar size and found they were short of the norm. The new policy takes effect on July 1, 2018 and now offers employees who have completed 15 full years of employment 20 vacation days. Vacation time does not accrue for employees from year to year, excluding secretarial staff, and must be used during the summer vacation period unless otherwise approved by a supervisor. These changes apply to classified staff, which includes bus drivers, teacher associates, health assistants, transportation workers and educational interpreters.
