There was no mention of injuries after lightning struck a car Monday morning near Grand Junction. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Grand Junction Fire and Rescue responded to the scene on U Ave. at about 5:35 a.m. Thirty-nine-year-old Brandi Medina of Norwalk was southbound when the lightning struck her 2008 Chrysler 300. The car was deemed a total loss. This fire report came in less than 10 minutes after a deputy and the fire department, along with the Rippey Fire Department, responded to a barn fire near 290th Street and U Ave.
