An organization dedicated to financially supporting families of children with life-threatening diseases will be hosting a fundraising event later this month. The charity event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Exira Rec Center and is put together by the Tori’s Angels Foundation. A meal of spaghetti, salad, dessert and a drink will be available for a freewill donation. Chairman, Bill Ridgley, says the foundation is a bit different than many other organizations because all money donated is used to benefit families.

Tori’s Angels received their non-profit status in 2011 and has helped 30 children since its founding. They cover all types of expenses, including food, lodging and even mileage. Ridgley says they support these families’ medical costs, no matter what.

Tori’s Angels currently supports 24 kids in southwest Iowa, ranging as far north as Carroll and as far east to Toledo. They intend to continue to expand this range. Ridgley says they contribute up to $150,000 per year to families and are always looking for people to help out. Ways to contact Tori’s Angels can be found by following the links included below
