Three Semi-Tractor Trailers Involved In Accident, Blocking Highway 30 Near Woodbine

Three semi-tractor trailers were involved in an accident on Highway 30 just west of Woodbine on Wednesday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol reports that at approximately 12:23 p.m. a 2000 Freightliner, driven by 58-year-old Robert Clay White of Woodbine, was westbound, slowing to turn left onto Redwood Ave. A 2017 Peterbilt, driven by 25-year-old Tamra Bonny of Omaha, Neb., was behind the White truck and unable to stop in time to avoid a collision. She hit the rear end of the Freightliner, pushing into the path of an eastbound 2016 Perterbilt, driven by 49-year-old Timothy Watson of Sweetwater, Tenn. White struck the trailer of the Watson semi-tractor trailer and then rolled onto the passenger side before coming to rest, completely blocking Highway 30. Bonny was air lifted to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha for treatment of serious injuries. White and Watson were both transported to CHI Health in Missouri Valley for treatment of their injuries.
