Carroll Area Nursing is partnering with the Carroll County Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach office in sponsoring a free health insurance workshop. The Smart Choice and Smart Use Health Insurance workshop is designed to help consumers make more informed choices concerning their health care insurance and to reduce the risk of high health-care costs. The session will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26 at the Carroll Area Nursing Office, located at 603 West 8th St. Participants will learn how to identify research-based actions to help them become better consumers of health insurance, consider strategies for understanding and using benefits, they will get a better understanding of estimating health-care expenses and how to select a plan that meets their individual needs. Though the workshop is free of charge, registration is required by the end of the day today (Monday, Oct. 23) and can be done through the contact points listed below.
