The Lake City Council has scheduled a date early next month for a public hearing on the financing of a new fire truck. Current plans to pay for the truck have Lake City borrowing about $141,000 through General Obligation (GO) bonds. City Administrator, Eric Wood, says the remaining cost of the new machine will fall to the other areas served by the Lake City Fire Department.

Those areas include Calhoun, Elm Grove, Jackson and Lake Creek Townships. Wood says the truck is expected to be delivered to the department by next year and is already on order.
