The Iowa Director of Revenue has reported that Carroll County Assessor, Cindy Heuton, has successfully completed the required courses of study that were a condition of her provisional appointment as assessor. Heuton has now been granted regular certification as of Oct. 28. Heuton joined the Carroll County Assessor’s Office in June of 2014 as a clerk. She became Chief Deputy in January of 2016 and assumed the role of Acting Assessor in February of the same year before being appointed by the Carroll County Board of Supervisors to the Assessor position on May 1, 2016. Heuton is a member of the Iowa State Association of Assessors (ISAA), the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) and serves on the Manual and Forms Committee. She lives in Carroll with her husband Jeff, and they have four sons: Tyson Heuton of Des Moines, Colby Taylor of Ankeny, Nathan Heuton of Carroll and Cory Taylor of Ankeny.
