Carroll Man Charged With Interference With Official Acts After Public Intoxication Arrest

A Carroll man faces multiple charges after he assaulted officers during an arrest for public intoxication. At approximately 11:25 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, officers with the Carroll Police Department responded to the Moose Lodge at 200 East 5th St. on reports of an intoxicated male outside the establishment. Authorities identified the man as 32-year-old Jose Eduardo Alvarez-Galdamez. He had a strong odor of alcohol about him, slurred speech and poor coordination and was placed under arrest for public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor, after becoming confrontational. While being transported to the Carroll County jail, Alvarez-Galdamez head-butted one officer and attempted to strike at them multiple times. For this, he has also been charged with interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor. This is the fourth time in five weeks Alvarez-Galdamez has been arrested for public intoxication.
