The Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach Carroll County office is hosting a refresher course for commercial pesticide applicators later this week. The seminar will provide continuing instruction credits for individuals certified in pesticides used on agricultural weeds, insects and crop diseases and research and demonstration. Topics to be covered during the presentation include the safe handling and storage of chemicals, laws and regulations, the use of personal protective equipment and pest management. The course will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the ISU Extension and Outreach Carroll County office. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. for a fee of $35 with classes from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Certified Crop Advisor Continuing Education Units in Pest Management are also available at the program.
