It is time for the people of Manning to get together with Main Street Manning for a community conversation on ideas for the future of one of Iowa’s most progressive small towns. On Wednesday, Nov. 15, Main Street Manning will host the event at the VFW Hall. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and attendees can take about a half hour to view display and project ideas from service organizations and the city. These include some exciting new plans for Hausbarn-Heritage Park and the Rec Center’s Hillside Splash. Additional announcements are expected on the naming of the Trestle Park Community Center, donations to the community and an introduction to the newest local charitable organization, Manning Chicks with Checks. The conversation will get underway at 6:30 p.m. and continue until about 7:45 p.m. Those interested in participating are asked to imagine what YOUR Manning would look like. To consider what ideas you would implement if a sizable donation was made to the city and you were the trustee. And then, you will be asked to share what improvements or local projects you would like to see completed.
