The Carroll Public Library will be hosting a book signing next week featuring Iowa’s all-time winningest coach in high school football and a local poet. Former St. Edmund Coach, Dick Tighe, will be at the library Tuesday, Nov. 28 selling and autographing his autobiography. The book, titled “Coach Tighe: 63 Years of High School Football,” can be purchased for $20, including tax. Tighe, who coached at Kuemper Catholic for five years early in his 63-year-career, tallied a record-setting 432 wins until he retired in 2016. Joining him at the book signing will be local poet, Glen J. Braddy. He has written several books including two poetry anthologies, Silent Moving and Ancient Voices, and a collection of short stories titled, “The Baby Contest.” The book signing event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at the library and will last approximately one hour.
