One person was injured about three miles north of Early following an accident at a work site Monday morning. At approximately 11:04 a.m., the Sac County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Highway 71 and 190th Street. When law enforcement arrived on scene, they determined a 2012 Caterpillar skid loader, operated by 28-year-old Christopher Stephen Gonnerman of Wall Lake, was working with gravel on the road’s shoulder. He began backing up and failed to see another worker, 61-year-old Patrick William Young, of Marquette. Gonnerman backed over a sign which tipped over and struck Young in the leg. It is not clear if the skid loader also backed over Young. He was transported to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center by Sac County Emergency Medical Services for treatment. Approximately $500 in damage was done to a nearby Ford F150.
